The Browne Center

Rippleffect Kayak
Sea Kayaking & Outdoor Challenge Course

Location: Rippleffect in Portland, ME

Description: Rippleffect is the most unique program on our calendar.  Located on Cow Island, a 26-acre island in Casco Bay, you'll have the opportunity to explore so many things.  Once an Army outpost, the island has remnants of the old fort.  Many of the structures are integrated into the challenge course elements.  There's plenty of rocky beach and tide pools teeming with little sea creatures.  Most exciting of all, is the opportunity to sea kayak among the beautiful coastal islands of Maine.  This is truly an adventure unlike anything else.

Day Hike

Fall Hike

Location: Pawtuckaway State Park, NH

Description: This program is a bit different than a typical On Belay day program, but we'll still have the same community building and adventure you've come to expect.  We're excited to be taking in the fall foliage and sweeping views of southeast NH on this program.  The hike is geared towards all youth we serve.  No steep climbs or special equipment required.  Just a sense of adventure and exploration.  Who know, this experience may unlock a desire to get outdoors and explore the outside world.  We hope to offer more opportunities like this to those who do in the future.
