Ruth Abelmann – Board President
University of New Hampshire, Associate Director of Residential Life
Ruth is the Associate Director of Residential Life at UNH and has been involved with On Belay since 2004. Ruth has been honored to play a role in the expansion of On Belay over the years and currently serves as our Board President. With the founder, Crescentia Healy-True, Ruth helped to create the Volunteer Program for students at UNH, who play a vital role at all On Belay programs. Ruth lives in Durham NH, teaches yoga in the community, has two kids in college who are volunteers for On Belay, and her partner Michael is the official On Belay photographer.
Jennings Information Systems, Consultant
Bill is a retired Business Systems Consultant and Project Manager. He has been involved with On Belay since its inception, as the father and advisor to our founder, Crescentia Healy True. He has played a critical role in the operation and development of On Belay ever since. He currently serves as Chair of the Board Resource Committee and is a member of the Crescentia Classic Golf Tournament Committee, which has raised over $60,000 for On Belay over the years. Bill lives in Newmarket, NH with his wife of 52 years, Crescentia Anne, and has 4 living children and 12 grandchildren.
Paramedic/Firefighter, City of Portland
Josh is a Portland firefighter / Paramedic. Josh has been with On-belay for almost 3 years. When he’s not working, he’s hiking or rock climbing with his wife and his rescued Mexican street dog. Josh grew up in and around Portland and currently resides in South Portland.
Maureen Conley – Treasurer
Senior Vice President Shareholder Services/Operations for Pax World
Maureen has worked in mutual fund operations since 1996, when she had the privilege of working for On Belay’s founder, Crescentia Healy-True at Citizens Funds in Portsmouth, NH. Maureen credits Crescentia as her role model and mentor, and is honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of On Belay by serving on the Board. Maureen joined the Board in 2012 and previously served as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of the Seacoast. She was born and raised in Maine, and has lived in Portsmouth since 1999.
Team Development Specialist, AFS-USA
Allie has worked as a Hall Director at UNH since 2010. She has spent the last two year coordinating UNH student volunteers to work with On Belay. Allie also works as a challenge course facilitator and first became involved with On Belay when she facilitated a program out at the Browne Center, she has been hooked ever since. Allie loves to be outside! She was born and raised in Southern Maine but now lives in Durham with her husband Charlie.
Eli is the younger sister of our founder, Crescentia Healy-True. She is active in the community teaching youth soccer, working as a Parent Education Coordinator and has dedicated many hours to various nonprofits that support breast cancer research and breast cancer survivors. Elizabeth is the Founder and Lead Coordinator of The Crescentia Classic Golf Tournament to benefit On Belay, and over the past 10 years she has helped raise over $65,000 for On Belay. She is a proud mother of 1, step mother to 3 and a grandmother of 2! Elizabeth lives in Dover with her husband Jon and daughter Lucy. Eli has a big heart, a big smile, a wonderful laugh and can often be found at On Belay lending an ear or a hug where needed.
Senior Analyst, Liberty Mutual
Ben is a Senior Analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance and has been involved with On Belay since 2009 when he served as a volunteer while attending UNH. Ben grew up in Stratham, NH and currently resides in Boston. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time outside, whether skiing in the mountains, boating on a lake, or running along the Charles River.
Dr. Paul Butler
Retired General Surgeon
Paul, his wife, Janet, and their three children moved to Dover in 1977. Since retiring from his general surgical practice in 2011, babysitting grandchildren, reading, travel, and a 2 year term on the Dover School Board have occupied much of his time. He is honored to serve on the board of On-Belay.
JK Gilsdorf Strategy
A NH Native and Oyster River graduate, Jess has worked for 25+ years as a designer, brand and marketing strategist developing communications programs for some cool accounts and national agencies. A life-long volunteer, photographer and fitness advocate and on her own time she engaged with On-Belay since its early inception as a fundraiser and educator. A collegiate athlete she also understands the value of “team” in every victory and loss. Having spent precious time at early age with a terminally ill parent herself her passion for On-Belay is founded on profound understanding that a strong peer network can bring strength to the worlds of kids living in turmoil.
Kellie Mueller Wentworth Douglass Hospital
Kellie is the Director of Behavioral Health at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. She is married, has three sons, and lives in Newington. Kellie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Her sons participated in their first On Belay program that year and knew it would be their first of many. Kellie and her family vowed shortly after her cancer diagnosis to find silver linings in the journey. On Belay has been one of those silver linings. Kellie joined the Board of Directors in 2015 hoping she could give back to the organization that has given her family so much.
